One of Nigeria’s most talented female musicians, Teni, releases her third single for the year titled “Billionaire” and it got us bouncing and popping as we drop the lyrics and review.

Billionaire by Teni was produced by Pheelz coming after she released Power Ranger. Teni narrates how deeply everyone wants their Billionaire dreams to come true and “is it too much”.

Teni announced Billionaire E.P following the Billionaire single. Here is the list of songs contained in Billionaire’s E.P –  Nowo, Billionaire, Complain, Super Woman, Shayo, Online. Sadly we are yet to feel the impact of other songs in her short collection but notwithstanding, let us talk this Teni’s BIllionaire and drop its lyrics. We’ve got some part of the lyrics translated, so you don’t have to worry about understanding the Yoruba dialect which Teni used in crafting the lyrics.

Summary

Teni is simply talented. I was first attracted by the cover art which already gives an expensive impression. Teni’s Billionaire is good music which creates an African uplifting sensation. The message in Teni’s Billionaire has an inspirational angle – work hard till you count in billions. You want to be a billionaire right? And is that too much to ask of, Otedola and Adenuga have one head each so do you, you too can be a Billionaire.

As usual, Teni knows how to blend in her high pitch alto to harmonize with her songs and lyrics. And she did that perfectly in this new record Billionaire. But where we found it ear-itching was the toy-techno sound that could be heard at the background at some point in the music. It is not totally a bad concept, just that it gave a down-tuning feeling – she could have removed it to reserve the mood.

The beat produced by Pheelz is a common one in the music industry but however Teni’s Billionaire has some unique finishes. Leave your comments below.
