Kevin Costner’s fatherhood tells a story that spans four decades and three relationships. The acclaimed actor, now 70, has raised seven children, each of whom has gone on to live a different life. Some stepped into the entertainment world, while others chose privacy over fame.
Costner’s family includes three adult children from his first marriage to Cindy Silva, one son from a brief relationship with Bridget Rooney, and three teenagers from his second marriage to Christine Baumgartner. Their ages range from 14 to 40
Annie Costner, 41

Born on April 15, 1984, Annie is Kevin’s firstborn daughter from his marriage to college sweetheart Cindy Silva. She got her first taste of Hollywood at a young age, appearing in her father’s Oscar-winning film, “Dances with Wolves,” when she was just six years old.
She runs Sound Off Films, a boutique production company that focuses on documentary work addressing social justice and environmental issues. Her company earned Anthem Award nominations in 2024. She’s also a licensed real estate agent with Sotheby’s International and co-founded the Mosaic of Change initiative alongside UNESCO. As a mother of two, she balances her professional pursuits with family life.
Annie married Dr Danny Cox in 2016 at her childhood home, Kevin’s Carpinteria estate. She shares a close bond with her father and attended the May 2024 Cannes Film Festival premiere of his film “Horizon: An American Saga.”
Lily Costner, 39

Lily arrived on August 4, 1986, as Kevin’s second daughter with Cindy Silva. She served as Miss Golden Globe in 2004 and appeared in several of her father’s films during her youth. However, Hollywood wasn’t calling her name the way music was.
Instead of pursuing acting, Lily discovered her passion for country and roots music. She performs regularly with Kevin Costner & Modern West and has released multiple singles, including “Love Like Thieves” and “Songs from Horizon” in 2024 and 2025. Her father has publicly praised her immense talent. “She’s really gifted,” Kevin told reporters. “Lily’s way is not to knock doors down.”
Joe Costner, 37

Born January 31, 1988, Joe is the youngest of Kevin’s children with Cindy Silva. He attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned a degree in history before pivoting to his true passion.
Joe chose the soundboard over the spotlight. He founded Spartan Recording in 2016 and works as a production sound mixer while fronting a rock band called Dudley.
Liam Costner, 29
Liam Timothy Costner was born on November 15, 1996, to Bridget Rooney, a Pittsburgh Steelers heiress. His early story is perhaps the most complicated of all Kevin’s children. The actor initially questioned paternity, but a DNA test in 2002, when Liam was six, confirmed Kevin was indeed his father.
Raised primarily in Palm Beach, Florida, by Bridget and her billionaire husband Bill Koch (whom she married in 2005), Liam has chosen a path of privacy. He works as a luxury real estate agent for Frankel Bell Group in Palm Beach County and maintains zero social media presence.
The relationship between Liam and Kevin remains cordial but not particularly close. Sources say Kevin visits “occasionally but not on a regular basis,” although he has established a trust fund and provides financial support. The complicated circumstances of Liam’s birth, which occurred during Kevin’s transitional period between marriages, have shaped this dynamic.
Cayden Wyatt Costner, 18

Born in 2007, Cayden is Kevin’s first child with handbag designer Christine Baumgartner. Now 18, he just graduated from Santa Barbara High School in June 2025. Both parents attended the ceremony separately, staying on opposite sides of the school grounds for photos following their contentious divorce in 2023-2024.
Cayden played varsity lacrosse throughout high school and is described by Kevin as a “good older brother” to his younger siblings. His middle name, Wyatt, honours the legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, reflecting his father’s love of Western history.
Cayden has had to adjust to his parents’ highly publicised split, which was finalised in February 2024 after months of court battles. Despite the challenges, he’s maintained relationships with both parents during this difficult transition.
Hayes Logan Costner, 16
At 16, Hayes is Kevin’s middle child, born to Christine. He made his acting debut in his father’s passion project “Horizon: An American Saga” (2024), playing Nathaniel Kittredge. Kevin even named the film’s main character Hayes Ellison after his son. “I was watching him grow up and I was thinking, ‘Man, I better get with it and make this movie,'” Kevin explained.
The athletic teenager enjoys surfing, volleyball, and fishing when he’s not in school. Hayes described working with his father as “such a blast,”
Grace Avery Costner, 15

Grace, who turned 15 in June 2025, is Kevin’s youngest child and only daughter with Christine. Her father describes her as his “girly girl” who loves sewing and dancing, but also isn’t afraid to join her brothers for backyard sports.
In August 2023, during the height of his divorce proceedings, Kevin took Grace to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium. The six-hour father-daughter outing became a cherished memory. “I’m officially a Swiftie!” he posted afterwards.
Kevin has been refreshingly honest about the challenges of raising seven children across different relationships. “As [my] children interact together, there’s always this little bit of, ‘Do you care for us now as much as you do them?'” he acknowledged. “You have to talk about how big love is. The ability to be able to love somebody else doesn’t mean there’s less love for you.”
Now single following his second divorce, Kevin told Us Weekly in November 2024 that he works “especially hard” to maintain warmth and family traditions during holidays. When five of his children showed up dressed to support him at the Cannes premiere, the emotional father struggled to find words: “I looked to my left and there were my five children all dressed up looking at me. I really didn’t know what to do.”
