Michael Jackson: The World Mourns the King of Pop
Michael Jackson, the unparalleled superstar dubbed “The King of Pop,” passed away on June 25th, 2009, sending shockwaves around the globe. His unique dance moves and incredible voice mesmerized fans for decades.
Michael’s singing career began at a tender age with the Jackson 5, alongside his brothers. He later embarked on a solo career that would see him become one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Cause of Death:
On that fateful day in 2009, Michael suffered cardiac arrest due to acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication. Preparing for a concert in London, he had been taking medications to help him sleep. Moments after ingesting these drugs, he suffered a cardiac arrest and was unresponsive.
Despite the tireless efforts of doctors at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Michael was pronounced dead at 2:22 pm. The world lost a true icon at just 50 years old.
