Gwyneth Paltrow has officially sold her luxurious Los Angeles mansion for $22 million, marking another milestone in her real estate journey. The property, located in the exclusive Mandeville Canyon area of Brentwood, is known for its privacy and stunning design.
Details of the Property
Originally built in the 1950s, the single-story mansion underwent a significant renovation in 2009, blending modern elements with timeless charm. The home spans 8,000 square feet on a two-thirds-acre lot and includes six bedrooms. The interior boasts high ceilings, large windows, and black tile floors. The expansive kitchen features double cooktops and a wood-burning oven, making it a dream for culinary enthusiasts.
Additional features include a one-bedroom guesthouse, complete with an office, gym, wine cellar, movie theater, and game room. The property’s tall hedges and mature trees ensure exceptional privacy, a key selling point in this upscale neighborhood.
The mansion was initially listed in May 2024 for $29.99 million, but the asking price was reduced to $24.9 million in October 2024. Gwyneth Paltrow purchased the property in 2012 for $9.95 million with her then-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. After their divorce, the actress continued to live in the home with her two children, Apple and Moses. Her current husband, producer Brad Falchuk, and his children also moved into the property following their 2018 marriage.
Why She Sold The House
Paltrow decided to sell the home as her children grew older and moved on to new phases of their lives. The decision coincided with her son Moses’ high school graduation, signaling a shift for the family.
Moving forward, Paltrow and Falchuk plan to split their time between their other properties in Montecito, California, and Amagansett, New York. There is also speculation that they may purchase another home in Los Angeles.
While the Brentwood mansion was spared from recent wildfires in the area, Paltrow has shown her commitment to supporting the local community. In January, she and her wellness brand, Goop, pledged $2 million toward fire relief efforts. In an Instagram post, Paltrow emphasized the importance of community, writing, “The Palisades and Altadena are more than neighborhoods; they are communities that define what it means to belong.”
