While her brothers chase headlines and court controversy, Janine Tate Webb has quietly built a career as a successful corporate attorney in Kentucky, deliberately staying miles away from the spotlight that follows Andrew and Tristan Tate everywhere they go.

Biography and Early Life

Most sources claim Janine was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England.

Janine’s parents, Emory Andrew Tate II and Eileen Tate, divorced in 1997 when she was young. Following the split, her mother Eileen moved the children back to England, settling in Luton where she’d grown up. The family lived on a council estate, and Eileen worked as a catering assistant at Cardinal Newman Catholic School to make ends meet.

Growing up with dual British-American citizenship thanks to her mixed heritage, Janine spent her formative years in Bedfordshire. Her father was African-American, her mother white British. This background gave her perspectives from both sides of the Atlantic.

Despite the challenges of a single-parent household, Janine excelled academically. She’s the only daughter in the Tate family, sandwiched between two brothers who’d later become infamous for very different reasons.

Education and Legal Career

Janine earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Kentucky before diving into legal studies at the same institution’s law school, now called the J. David Rosenberg College of Law.

During law school, Janine served as President of the Black Law Student Association and earned the Best Oral Advocate award from the Legal Research and Writing Club in 2015.

She was admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association on October 23, 2017, and immediately joined Frost Brown Todd LLC in Lexington as an associate. Her specialties? Healthcare and insurance defense, plus business litigation.

Janine’s professional recognition came quickly. She made the Kentucky Rising Stars list in both 2020 and 2021, a distinction that places her among the top young attorneys in the state. She also participated in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Pathfinder Program in 2021 and served on Frost Brown Todd’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Case records show her involvement in federal litigation, including Guarino v. Northwood Marine Services and LBX Company, LLC v. G.W. Van Keppel Company in 2021.

More recently, Janine’s made a career move that many attorneys dream of. She’s transitioned from law firm practice to in-house corporate counsel at Yum! Brands, Inc., the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell based in Louisville, Kentucky.

Family

Janine’s father, Emory Andrew Tate II (1958-2015), was a chess International Master who died in 2015. Her mother, Eileen Tate, raised the three children alone after the divorce and currently lives in Bedfordshire.

Her brothers Andrew (born 1986) and Tristan (born 1988) are former kickboxers turned controversial social media personalities.

The relationship between Janine and her brothers? That’s genuinely fractured, and Andrew himself confirmed it publicly.

In a July 2022 YouTube interview, Andrew stated bluntly: “My sister and I don’t really talk because she goes to feminist rallies and believes Trump’s a racist.” He added dismissively that “the first child is always the smartest. She’s like the third.”

On the Patrick Bet-David podcast that October, he softened his tone slightly: “My sister is my sister. I wish her the absolute best. I have nothing bad to say about her… I don’t feel I could live with my sister full-time in the same house.”

Tristan echoed similar sentiments: “I have nothing bad to say about my sister, she just doesn’t talk to me.”

Here’s what’s crucial though. The “feminist” label comes entirely from Andrew, not Janine herself. She’s never publicly identified as a feminist or women’s rights activist. Her civic engagement with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters might align with progressive values, but that’s Andrew’s characterization, not her self-identification.

Janine has maintained complete public silence regarding her brothers’ December 2022 arrest in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group. She hasn’t commented on their subsequent legal proceedings or the UK Crown Prosecution Service’s 21 charges announced in May 2025.

No interviews. No statements. Her Instagram account (@jtwebbie_xo) remains private. She’s simply chosen not to engage.
