Kashetu Usman was born in 1984 in Benin City, Nigeria, and is 40 years old. His father is Muhammed Nasiru Usman, while his mother, Afishetu P. Usman, was a teacher. Although not in the public eye like her husband or son, Kashetu Usman’s mother has played a vital role in his life. Her unwavering support and unconditional love have been a constant source of motivation for her children throughout their careers.
Kashetu’s family moved to Texas in 1994 when he was 10. He grew up alongside his brothers, who are big names in the MMA world.

After finishing college, Kashetu started working at Target as an Executive Pharmacy Intern in Minneapolis. Then, he got a better job at the same Target store as a Pharmacy Campus Liaison. When he was done working at Target, he moved to Chicago and joined the Quality Assurance team at Hillshire Brands, a company that makes food. Kashetu was born into a family of six people, including his parents, two brothers, and a sister. We don’t know his sister’s name, but his two brothers are well-known in MMA fighting.
Kashetu’s brother Kamaru was born on May 11, 1987. Kamaru is a famous MMA fighter who has won many championships. On November 6, 2021, he beat Colby Covington and kept his UFC Welterweight Championship title. Kamaru is part of the ONX Sports team and is called “Nigerian Nightmare.”
The youngest brother, Mohammed Usman, was born on April 1, 1989. He’s also making a name for himself in UFC. As of 2023, he has won 10 out of 12 fights with no draws. His nickname is “The Motor,” and he fights for the Fortis MMA team. Mohammed became The Ultimate Fighter season 30 champion after knocking out Zac Pauga. Unfortunately, that victory caused him a fractured thumb, which needed surgery and screws to heal.

Kashetu Usman Father’s Arrest
Kashetu’s dad, Muhammed Nasiru Usman, born in 1960, became a pharmacist in the United States after working for years in the Nigerian Army. He owned and ran two businesses, Royal Ambulance Service, Inc. and First Choice EMS, Inc. He got into trouble with the law in 2010 when he was charged with 14 counts of a superseding indictment charging various offenses, including healthcare fraud and money laundering, related to a healthcare fraud scheme he ran.
After serving his time in prison, Kashetu’s dad was released on March 16, 2021, from prison in Seagoville, Texas. While in jail, he made many friends and was well-liked by the other prisoners. They would all cheer together whenever Kamaru Usman, Kashetu’s brother, fought.
