Ken Dorsey is a former NFL quarterback who is now known for his coaching in American football. He earned awards like Offensive Player of the Year twice and was selected for the First-team All-Big East three times during his football career.
He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2001 and 2002 and won the 2001 Maxwell Award, given to the best college football player nationally.
In 2013, he moved to coaching, starting as the quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers after working as a pro scout for the team from 2011 to 2012.
Ken Dorsey Net Worth
Dorsey signed a contract worth $1,985,000 with the Cleveland Browns in 2007, earning around $661,667 annually while he was playing.
After retiring from playing football, he became the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills and held well-paying coaching roles, accumulating a significant net worth that is estimated to be $17 million.
He was fired on 15th November 2023 amid a season that fell below expectations.
The decision was driven by a desire for increased confidence, energy, and consistent production in the face of a 5-5 record and a challenging schedule.
Dorsey, who took over as offensive coordinator in 2022, struggled to maintain offensive consistency, with a significant increase in turnovers since Week 5 and a lack of scoring beyond Week 4. The decision to fire Dorsey was influenced by the team’s overall performance under his leadership, marked by offensive struggles, turnovers, and a decline in early-game scoring.
Quarterback Josh Allen, who endorsed Dorsey for the role, has led the NFL in turnovers since Dorsey became coordinator. The Bills, despite strong offensive statistics, faced issues in executing at a high level consistently.
The move to replace Dorsey with interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady aims to inject new energy into the offense and address performance issues, particularly in the first half of games. Coach Sean McDermott emphasized the need for a change to improve confidence, clarity, and the ability to anticipate plays.
The salary Ken was paid while he was at Buffalo Bills is undisclosed, but the average offensive coordinator in the NFL earns up to $1 million salary annually. Looking at the fact that Ken could not complete his second year in the Bills, he earned that much for a year.
