His involvement in the gang led to legal issues. In 2012, he survived a drive-by shooting near his home. The following year, he was arrested for having firearms as a felon and received probation after pleading guilty. In 2014, he faced similar charges, pleaded not guilty, and was released on bail.
In 2015, he was accused of killing Filmon N. Rezene during a robbery attempt. Despite claiming innocence, he was arrested, convicted, and sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Later, he appealed, got a new trial, and was released on bond in 2020 while still asserting his innocence, stating he was framed.
