Lance Archer Biography

Lance Archer was born on February 28, 1977, in Gause, Texas, USA, to parents whose identities are yet to be shared with the public. Also, there are no reports of Hoyt’s siblings online.

After finishing high school at Hearne High, Archer played basketball, football, and baseball.

Archer also attended Texas State University, where he played college football as a quarterback and earned a degree in English.

During his time in college, he had a job at a nightclub where he met someone who introduced him to Solo Fiatala.

Fiatala trained him to become a professional wrestler. It might also interest you to know that Hoyt is a devoted Christian.

Lance Archer Professional Wrestling Career

Hoyt started his wrestling career in 2000 and later joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) from 2004 to 2009.

In TNA, he went by the name Diamond Dallas Page and won the NWA World Tag Team Championship twice with Kid Kash.

After he joined TNA, he changed his name to Lance Hoyt and teamed up with Jimmy Rave and Christy Hemme in a group with a rock band theme called the Rock N Rave Infection. Later, in 2008, he changed his name to Lance Rock.

After leaving TNA, he signed with WWE and was known as Vance Archer until 2010. Then, he signed with a Japanese wrestling promotion called New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he became Lance Archer.

Initially, he joined Minoru Suzuki’s Suzuki-Gun and won the G1 Tag League in 2011 with Suzuki.

Later, when Davey Boy Smith Jr. joined NJPW, they teamed up as the Killer Elite Squad, winning various tag team championships between 2014 and 2019.

In 2019, when Smith left, Archer started wrestling on his own and became the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. He won this title again in 2021, which tied a record.

Then, in February 2020, it was announced that Archer had also joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW), but he continued to show up for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) too.
