When you watch Patrick Mahomes dominate on the football field, there’s usually one familiar face cheering louder than anyone else in the stands. That’s Randi Martin, the proud mom who’s been by her superstar son’s side since day one. But there’s so much more to her story than just being a football mom.

From her small-town Texas roots to navigating the challenges of fame, Randi has lived through incredible highs and devastating lows. She’s buried both parents, watched her son become an NFL legend, launched multiple businesses, and recently became a grandmother to three. Let’s dive into the life of the woman Patrick calls his biggest supporter.

Biography

Randi Gail Martin was born on June 25, 1972, in Troup, Texas, a small East Texas town with fewer than 1,100 residents. Growing up in a close-knit community shaped her. She attended the same local school from kindergarten through high school graduation, where she was a cheerleader. That small-town stability taught her the value of lasting connections, a lesson she’s carried with her throughout her life.

Her parents were deeply rooted in Texas education. Her father, Larry “Randy” Martin, dedicated 33 years to teaching, counselling, and school administration across multiple Texas schools. He holds a Master’s degree in Agriculture and Sociology and later worked as a drug and alcohol abuse counsellor for 10 years. Her mother, Debbie Bates Martin, spent 41 years as a school secretary and registrar, primarily at Troup Middle School and Whitehouse High School.

Randi is the youngest of four children. She has an older brother, Joey Martin, who lives in Spring, Texas, and two older sisters, Jill Herrington and Lori Deal Wilson. The Martin family is massive, boasting 56 first cousins who still gather regularly for celebrations and special occasions. That emphasis on family togetherness? Randi absolutely passed it down to her own kids.

Tragedy struck recently when her mother, Debbie, passed away on April 5, 2023, at age 72. Then, just five days after Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, her father, Randy, died at age 78. He’d been in hospice care but held on just long enough to watch Patrick play one more time.

Career

Randi’s professional journey has evolved dramatically over the years. During her marriage to MLB player Pat Mahomes, she primarily stayed home. She’s been refreshingly honest about that time, saying, “People would say to me, ‘You don’t have to work, you must be so lucky!’ But I remember deep inside, I was hurting.”

After her 2006 divorce, she needed to forge her own path. She joined Hollytree Country Club in Tyler, Texas, starting as a receptionist around 2004-2005 and working her way up to Catering and Events Director over 15 years. In June 2024, she retired from that position to focus on being a full-time grandmother and entrepreneur.

Her business ventures now keep her plenty busy. She runs QB Producer, an active e-commerce store selling gameday merchandise, including tees, hats, and accessories. The brand emphasises faith and family values, which are central to everything she does. In October 2024, she launched an 8-piece Kansas City Chiefs-inspired clothing line with Gameday Couture featuring sweatshirts, jerseys, and jeans.

Her newest venture, Sports Parent Academy, launched in April 2025. It’s described as “a playbook for sports parents,” drawing directly from her experience raising an NFL superstar. She also offers personalised video messages on Cameo for $35 each.

Beyond business, Randi’s heart is in charity work. She’s been heavily involved with Variety KC, a Kansas City nonprofit supporting children with developmental disabilities. Her annual birthday fundraisers started small in 2020 with a $200 goal but raised $7,000, enough to buy a special wheelchair for an 11-year-old boy. In September 2024, she emceed the Heart & Serve Pickleball Tournament, which raised over $150,000 for Variety KC. She received the 2021 International Variety Presidential Citation Award for her volunteer contributions.

Personal Life

Randi’s love story with Pat Mahomes Sr. began in the late 1990s in Texas, shortly after high school. At the time, she had no idea her future husband would become a star baseball player. Pat played MLB from 1992 to 2003 for teams including the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and Chicago Cubs.

Their relationship moved quickly, and Randi found herself becoming a young mother to Patrick Lavon Mahomes II, born September 17, 1995. Although she hadn’t envisioned that path, her Christian faith reassured her that this was part of a bigger plan. She set aside her own aspirations and dedicated herself to being the best mother possible.

The couple welcomed their second son, Jackson, on May 15, 2000. However, the rigours of Pat’s professional baseball career took a toll on their relationship. They divorced in 2006 when Patrick was just 11 years old. Despite the split, they’ve maintained what Randi describes as a “best friends” relationship and co-parent effectively. They’re frequently spotted together at Patrick’s games.

After the divorce, Randi entered another relationship and welcomed her daughter, Mia Randall, on July 12, 2011. Mia’s biological father is believed to be PJ Randall from Mesquite, Texas, though the family keeps this private. Now 13, Mia excels in multiple sports, including basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, and football, at All Saints Episcopal School.

Randi is currently single and hasn’t publicly dated since 2006. In 2023, she sparked remarriage rumours by posting a photo wearing a “bride” hairband, but she quickly clarified it was just for fun.

Being “Grandi” to her three grandchildren has become her greatest joy. Patrick and his wife, Brittany, have blessed her with Sterling Skye (born February 20, 2021), Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III (born November 28, 2022), and Golden Raye (born January 12, 2025). She hosts regular “Grandi Camp” visits and maintains an exceptionally close relationship with her daughter-in-law, Brittany, whom she treats “just as normal” as other family members.

In March 2025, Patrick, Brittany, and Jackson surprised Randi with a new $825,000 home in Texas. The newly constructed 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom property is a return to her roots. She called it the “surprise of my life” and announced on Instagram, “Home is where the heart is, and my heart is full!”

Her youngest son, Jackson, faced legal troubles in 2023, which tested the family. He was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery following a February 2023 incident at a Kansas restaurant. All three felony charges were dismissed in January 2024 after the alleged victim refused to testify. Jackson pleaded no contest to a single misdemeanour battery charge in March 2024 and received 120 days of suspended jail time and six months of unsupervised probation. Randi and Pat attended court hearings to support their son through the ordeal.

Recent years haven’t been easy for Randi. She’s dealt with immense public scrutiny and opened up about it on The Mom Game Podcast in 2024, saying, “It has been the hardest seven years of my adult life. I’ve cried a lot. I struggle with it.” She’s faced political controversy for wearing a MAGA hat at games and endorsing Donald Trump, drawing both support and criticism online.

Net Worth

Randi Martin’s net worth is estimated at approximately $2 million as of 2025. Her income streams are diverse and growing. She has income from her 15-plus years at Hollytree Country Club, plus revenue from QB Producer merchandise sales, her Cameo appearances, the newly launched Sports Parent Academy, and her Gameday Couture collaboration.
