Thanasis Antetokounmp Biography
Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece, on July 18, 1992, and he’s 32 years old. He’s the second of five boys in his family, and his parents, Charles and Veronica Antetokounmpo, are from Nigeria.
When he was a kid, Antetokounmpo started playing basketball in a club called Filathlitikos in 2008. He didn’t start with the grown-up team; he played with the junior teams.
As he got better, he joined the senior men’s team of Filathlitikos. At first, he played in the Greek fourth division during the 2010-11 season, and then he moved up to the Greek third division in the 2011-12 season.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo Basketball Career
Antetokounmpo’s basketball journey took him through various teams. He started with the New York Knicks organization, playing for their D-League team, the Westchester Knicks, between 2014 and 2016.
He had a good run there, even earning a spot on the NBA D-League All-Defensive second team in 2015. He briefly joined the New York Knicks in 2016 but then returned to the Westchester Knicks.
