Emmy-nominated filmmaker Lyn Lear has secured a stunning retreat in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, dropping $24 million on a sleek, contemporary estate.
According to property records, a trust linked to Lear—widow of legendary screenwriter and television producer Norman Lear—purchased the home in a private, off-market deal earlier this month.
The seller is an LLC associated with EPIQ Capital Group, a San Francisco-based financial advisory firm that caters to ultra-high-net-worth clients with assets exceeding $100 million.
Westside Estate Agency’s Kurt Rappaport represented the seller, while Carolwood Estates’ Cooper Mount and Westside Estate Agency’s Jonas Heller represented Lear in the transaction.
A Spacious and Private Oasis
The five-bedroom, nine-bathroom home spans 10,300 square feet and is tucked away behind gates and lush hedges, ensuring ultimate privacy.
Some of its standout features include a state-of-the-art theater, a wine cellar, a fully equipped gym, and an office built with reclaimed French oak.
The home’s workspace will be a perfect fit for Lear, who remains highly active in the entertainment industry. This year alone, she served as an executive producer for the documentary series The Man Will Burn, True Believer, and Mrs. Robinson, as well as a producer on Narcissist Playbook.
Beyond filmmaking, Lear holds prominent positions on several boards, including the Sundance Institute Board of Directors, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art board, and the Norman Lear Center at USC Annenberg’s School for Communication and Journalism.
Hollywood Hills Market Activity
Hollywood Hills real estate continues to see high-profile deals. Earlier this year, pop star Ariana Grande sold her 1,600-square-foot cottage at 9300 Flicker Way to music sensation Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) for $8.3 million.
Meanwhile, Henrik Fisker, founder of the now-bankrupt electric vehicle company Fisker, is seeking $35 million for his contemporary 11,800-square-foot estate at 1305 Collingwood Place, which hit the market in June.
