When Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley said “I do” on March 15, 2003, they probably didn’t imagine they’d one day be raising a visual artist who writes plays and a philosophical animal lover who performs rescue missions for household bugs. But that’s precisely what happened. The country music superstar and his actress wife have kept their sons largely out of the spotlight. Yet, recent interviews reveal two remarkable young men with distinctly different personalities and passions.
William “Huck” Huckleberry Paisley, 18
Born on February 22, 2007, William “Huck” Huckleberry Paisley is named after Mark Twain’s iconic character. Brad chose it to embody “a spirit of adventure,” telling reporters at his birth: “I can see him now, out playing in the woods, taking chances.” That adventurous spirit has indeed manifested, though perhaps not quite as Brad initially imagined.
In August 2025, Huck left home for college, marking a significant milestone for the family. Kimberly shared an emotional Instagram post featuring a childhood note her son wrote at age 7: “Com visit me in calij. Love Huck. You promes.” Her simple caption, “I promes I promes I promes ❤️💪🏻😭,” suggested Huck is attending a California university, though the family hasn’t publicly confirmed which school.
Huck isn’t following his father into music or his mother into acting. Instead, he’s pursuing visual art and storytelling. In an August 2025 Parade interview, his parents revealed he’s “really interested in visual art and storytelling” and has “written a bunch of plays.” Kimberly described his artwork as “gorgeous and interesting” and praised his “brave and kind heart.”
The young artist also plays the piano, a skill his mother shared on Instagram in 2019. As a toddler, he famously asked Kimberly a question that perfectly captured his creative curiosity: “Mommy, does Jesus play the banjo?” He was learning the instrument at the time, and his innocent question became a cherished family memory.
Even at age two, Huck was described as a “go-getter” who was “very animated, fiery and dramatic.” That passionate nature has evolved into artistic expression rather than tantrum-throwing, thankfully. Brad joked that his younger brother Jasper is “looking forward to having the house to himself” now that Huck’s away at college – typical sibling dynamics.
Jasper Warren Paisley, 16
Jasper Warren Paisley arrived on April 17, 2009, carrying a name with deep family significance. “Warren” honours Brad’s grandfather, Warren Jarvis, who gave Brad his first guitar at age eight and essentially launched his entire country music career. “Jasper” came from a dream Kimberly had about having a boy by that name. It’s safe to say the name fits him perfectly.
At 16, Jasper remains in high school near the family’s home in Franklin, Tennessee. His mother describes him as “wise and patient beyond his years, dryly funny and passionate about good things.” He’s a philosopher-in-the-making who once told his older brother something surprisingly profound: “I’m willing to be the ball in the air and not the bat that hits it.” Try to find another teenager with that level of self-awareness.
Jasper’s defining characteristic? His deep love for animals. He’s passionate about pufferfish, cheetahs, and conservation. During the pandemic, Brad famously performed surgery on one of Jasper’s beloved pufferfish after it started losing weight. For a recent birthday, Kimberly gave him a bug trap, not your typical teenage gift. The reason? “So when there is a bug in the house, he can trap it and take it outside rather than have one of us squash it. These things are important to him.”
He also loves building with LEGO and exploring nature on the family’s 85-acre property. The kid who’d rather save a spider than squash it is the same one who revealed his sharp musical ear in September 2024. When Brad played his new song “Truck Still Works,” Jasper immediately recognized it as a sequel to “Mud On The Tires,” even though he hadn’t heard any earlier version. “Dad, while I was at camp you wrote the sequel,” he said.
