Kobe Bryant: A Slam Dunk in the Heart
The basketball star who is known as one of the greatest basketball scorers and players of all time died on January 26, 2020.
He started when he was very young and began playing professionally in high school. Known as a star player, he won many awards while still playing in his high school.
He played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1996 to 2016 where he spent most of his seasons and led his team to many victories.
Basketball legend Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest players of all time, tragically died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. The accident also claimed the life of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna. The sports world mourned the loss of a towering figure, and Kobe’s memory continues to inspire athletes around the globe.
Cause of Death:
Kobe’s death shook the entire world. He and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, boarded a helicopter with 6 other passengers from Orange County, California to Ventura county for a basketball game.
Due to fog and light rain, the pilot couldn’t see clearly and so kept circling above the L.A Zoo. The helicopter crashed into a mountain in Calabasas and caught fire. All passengers including the pilot were killed as the helicopter went down.
Kobe and his daughter, Gianna were identified using fingerprints. The cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma due to the impact of the helicopter. On the 7th of February 2020, Kobe Bryant and his daughter were buried at Pacific View Memorial Park in California in a private funeral. A public memorial service was later held on the 24th of February.
