Biopic – Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le & Box Office Hit Straight Outta Compton
Michel’le Denise Toussant starred in a 2016 biography film called “Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le.” However, her character was portrayed by Rhyon Nicole Brown. The film is based on the true story of R&B singer Michel’le.
The biography film was made because she was left out of the 2015 biography film “Straight Outta Compton” despite her role and contribution to the now-disbanded hip-hop group N.W.A ( Niggaz Wit Attitudes).
Straight Outta Compton was a box office hit, making about $201.6 million. Unfortunately, the R&B singer had no part in it.

Personal Life
Michel’le started dating popular American rapper and record producer Dr. Dre in 1987 when she was 16 and about to celebrate her 17th birthday.
Their parts crossed when Michel’le played a vocal part for the World Class Wreckin’ Cru music group.
After dating for about three and a half years, the couple got married and had their first child “Marcel Young” in February of 1991. Marcel was Michel’le’s first child but the sixth child of Dr Dre, who had been with other women in the past before meeting Michel’le.
After the birth of their son “Marcel,” Michel’le’s relationship with Dr. Dre started to take a drastic turn due to Dre’s bad drinking habit, infidelity, and violent behavior. Michel’le was physically abused and one time came close to being shot during an argument she had with Dre, but luckily he missed her by a few inches. However, he never tried it again.
Despite being mistreated, Michel’le stayed with Dre but eventually left when she found out he was engaged to another woman.
Michel’le started another relationship with Suge Knight, who helped her by sending her to rehab after her relationship with Dr. Dre. Eventually, she married Suge Knight and gave birth to her second child and Knight’s fifth, “Bailei” on November 29, 2002.
After six years of marriage, Michel’le filed for divorce but discovered that her marriage to Suge Knight was never real because he was technically still married to his ex-wife Sharitha.
