Who is Erin Cronin?
Erin Cronin is best known as the wife of renowned baseball pitcher David Robertson, but she’s also recognized for her philanthropic work. She, along with her husband, established a charity and has been an active participant in the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) since 2009. She also plays a crucial role in managing the Rick Cronin Memorial Fund, a tribute to her late father.
Born in 1985 in Medfield, Massachusetts, to Maureen McCarthy and Rick Cronin, Erin spent her childhood with her sibling, Patrick Croning, and step-siblings, John Bourque and Candice (Bourque) Dowling.
According to ChicagoTribune, after completing her education at Bentley University, Waltham, in 2007, she worked in a government office. She first worked for the Massachusetts attorney general and later for the state of New Jersey. During this period, her then-boyfriend David was moving from the minor leagues to the New York Yankees.
Erin’s life took a tragic turn when her father, Rick Cronin, died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 60 after a tough nine-month battle. The family set up the Rick Cronin Memorial Fund in honor of Rick’s brave fight against the disease. The fund aims to support cancer patients, ease their burdens, and fund crucial research to prevent and treat the illness.
Erin bears the responsibility as the fund’s administrator.
