Joel Osteen Biography
Joel Scott Osteen was born in Houston, Texas, on March 5, 1963, to parents John Osteen and Dolores (“Dodie”) Pilgrim.
His father, once a Southern Baptist pastor, started Lakewood Church in an old feed store.
Joel comes from a large family with three older siblings – Paul, Lisa, and Tamara Osteen – a younger sister named April and a half-brother named Justin, all dedicated to God’s work.
For his schooling, Joel graduated from Humble High School in Texas in 1981. Later, he attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing on radio and television communications, but didn’t finish his studies.
Personal Life
Joel Osteen married Victoria Osteen (previously known as Victoria Iloff) on April 4, 1987.
Victoria later became the co-pastor of Lakewood Church alongside Joel. Also, she is an author known for her books such as “Love Your Life: Living Happy, Healthy, and Whole,” released on October 14, 2008, and many other children’s books.
The couple have two children: a son named Jonathan Emerson Osteen (born on April 20, 1995), who is married to Sophia Hahn, and a daughter named “Alexandra Osteen (born on November 9, 1998).
