Mercy Chinwo Biography

Mercy Nnenda Chinwo was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, on September 5, 1990. She is the daughter of Eno Jerry and Peter Chinwo.

Mercy is the first child and daughter of six children born to her parents. For now, we don’t know the names of her siblings.

In terms of Mercy’s educational background, she completed her elementary education at Victory Comprehensive College and Paradise International School.

Afterward, she completed her tertiary education at the University of Port Harcourt, graduating with a Linguistics and Communication Studies degree.

Also, Mercy has a degree in human resources management from the International Business Management Institute (IBMI).

Mercy Chinwo Professional Career

Mercy Chinwo, who started singing when she was young, had always wanted to share her music with the world. In order to pursue this dream of hers, she contested and entered into the Nigerian music reality show in 2012 called Nigerian Idol.

Fortunately for Mercy, she made it into the finals and came out victorious as the winner of the 2012 edition. After that, Mercy decided to try acting and appeared as Lucia in the Ghanaian Nigerian comedy film “House of Gold,” released in 2013.

After her experience with acting, Mercy decided to stick and fully commit herself to making music. But, before she started making her music, she provided backup for Nigerian gospel artists such as Joe Praize, Buchi, Preye, Chris Morgan, and many more.

Mercy released her first single, Testimony, in 2015, and Igwe in 2016. However, everything changed in 2017 when he signed with the record label EeZee Concepts, which led to the release of her song Excess Love, which went viral in 2018.

Since then, the gospel artist has been hitting it and drawing people closer to God with her music. As of the time of writing, Mercy has released four music albums, which are “The Cross: My Gaze,” “SATISFIED,” “Elevated,” and “Overwhelming Victory.”

Mercy and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, run an NGO called “MercyisBlessed Foundation,” which focuses on helping the youth and less privileged.
