How Well Do You Know Nollywood Actors?
Stars in this quiz
Brush up before you play, or read their stories after.
Nollywood fans love to argue about who the greatest of all time is, and this quiz is a quick way to see who actually knows the industry. Every play pulls ten random questions from a much bigger bank, so the round your friend gets won't match yours. Finish it and you get a score, a fun title, and a result you can share or use to challenge someone who thinks they know better.
What The Nollywood Actors Quiz Covers
The questions move across the whole industry, from the veterans who shot on video cassette to the stars releasing films straight to YouTube. Some rounds show you a face and ask you to name the actor. Others ask about home states, real names, breakout projects, awards and family life.
Difficulty is mixed on purpose. Easy questions reward anyone who watches Nigerian films casually, while the harder ones dig into details only real followers of the industry would have picked up. That spread keeps the quiz fun whether you're a weekend viewer or the person who reads every Nollywood headline.
Because the ten questions are drawn at random each time, replaying gives you fresh ground to cover. You can run it again straight away and meet names you didn't see the first time. Your score and title change with each attempt, which makes it easy to chase a better result.
The Stars Behind The Questions
The quiz leans on the people who built Nollywood and the ones keeping it moving. Olu Jacobs spent more than five decades on screen and, with his wife Joke Silva, built the Lufodo Group, which runs production, distribution and an academy that trained a generation of performers. Ramsey Nouah came up through 1990s home videos, broke out in Silent Night, then moved behind the camera and won AMVCA Best Director honours twice.
The leading ladies carry just as much weight. Rita Dominic built a long career on choosing prestige projects like The Meeting, '76 and Shattered rather than chasing volume. Funke Akindele runs Scene One Productions and has turned box office records into a habit, while Omoni Oboli writes, directs and now releases a brand new feature on her own YouTube channel almost every week.
Yoruba cinema is heavily represented too. Toyin Abraham turned the Alakada comedies into one of the industry's most durable franchises through her own production company. Mercy Aigbe has more than a hundred films behind her and founded a drama school in 2016, and Iyabo Ojo has acted in over 150 films while producing and directing her own historical epics. Femi Adebayo, a trained lawyer and the son of veteran actor Oga Bello, sits in that same group with Jagun Jagun.
Younger names round things out. Regina Daniels started acting at seven and has never left the spotlight since. Sharon Ooja went from a chance photo shoot encounter to King of Boys and Netflix titles, and Bimbo Ademoye proved a homegrown YouTube character could pull millions of views without a streaming deal. Ini Edo and Stephanie Okereke Linus also show up, both of them actresses who moved into producing and directing.
Tips To Score Well
Trust the face first. The picture questions are usually the easiest points on the board, so go with your gut instead of second guessing yourself out of a correct answer.
Think about where each star comes from, not just what they act in. A lot of the trickier questions touch on home states, birth names and family background, and those are the details casual viewers skip. If you've read a few biographies, you'll feel the difference straight away.
Pay attention to the career turning points too. Breakout roles, first films and award wins come up often, and they're the kind of thing fans remember once they think for a second. Don't rush, since there's no prize for finishing fast.
Replay if your score stings. Fresh questions come up each round, so a weak first attempt doesn't mean much. Most people climb a few points by the second or third go.
