Renowned Nigerian media personality Frank Edoho has sparked conversation with his recent assertion that most women are not attracted to overly nice men, preferring instead “bad boys” who occasionally display kindness.
The legendary “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” host made these remarks during his appearance on a recent episode of “The Black Table” on TVC Entertainment, where he referenced an article that had caught his attention.
“There was an article I saw on a blog that intrigued me. The topic was, ‘What is that red flag that you admire in the opposite sex?’ The question was channelled to women,” Edoho explained.
What surprised the veteran broadcaster were the responses from women themselves. “Although I am of the school of thought that men shouldn’t be nice all the time, the answers I got further my resolve that men should not even be nice at all,” he stated.
Edoho, who returned to host “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” in 2022 after departing the show in 2017, recounted specific examples from the comments section that reinforced his perspective.
“Women were answering, do you know what I saw? There was one I saw that says, ‘I like it when my man tells me, ‘I don’t want to repeat myself again’.’ She said it turns her on,” he revealed.
He continued, “Others said that they like it when their man waxes them, not extremely but shows power, it turns them on.”
The 52-year-old media consultant concluded that these preferences suggest women are often more attracted to displays of confidence and assertiveness than constant niceness. “There are some strange things going on in the minds of these women that you are trying to be nice to. I am not saying all of them are like that but majority of women don’t like nice guys. They want bad guys that are nice to them sometimes,” he observed.
Edoho, whose career spans over two decades in Nigerian media, has built a reputation for his eloquent delivery and straightforward opinions. After hosting “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” for 13 years (2004-2017), he briefly moved to “The Price Is Right Nigeria” before making his celebrated return to WWTBAM in 2022.
His comments have already generated significant discussion on social media platforms, with opinions divided between those agreeing with his assessment and others challenging what they see as an oversimplification of women’s preferences in relationships.
The father of five, currently married to Sandra Onyenuchenuya since 2014, continues to be one of Nigeria’s most respected media personalities, with multiple awards including Best TV Presenter of the Year 2006 by City People Magazine Award and Male TV Presenter of the Year 2008 by Nigeria Kids Choice Award.
